SkyLineExpress™ System Activity Guide

#1-00026

Introduction

Congratulations on your purchase of the SkyLineExpress System. This guide is designed to help you and your students get the most benefits from SkyLineExpress System.

Activities

Sky Ball
Attach a beach ball or other lightweight ball to the slider apparatus. Attach the SkyLineExpress System between 2 baskets. Slide the ball into a center position and make a centerline under the ball on the floor. Place one team on one side of the line and another team across from them. Using foam balls, each team tries to knock the sliding ball down the line past a predetermined spot on the other team's side. Keep score or just play with no scoring.

Options:
1- Play Sky Ball with no center line. Students can go anywhere to grab a ball and throw.
2- Time teams to see how fast they can move the ball along a designated distance.

Moving Target
Attach a hula hoop to the slide tube and attach a 10' line to the hoop. Have one student walk or run the hoop up and down the floor using the pull rope. Students on each side of the rope can practice throwing at a moving target with fleece balls, foam balls, frisbees, foam footballs, etc. As their accuracy improves, back them up farther from the target or have the puller go faster. Competitive games can be played with many teams at once by keeping track of throws that go through the hoop.

Hoop Targets
Hang up to 10 to 12 hoops from the SkyLineExpress System, and you have more than enough targets to practice any kind of throwing. Have half of the class on one side and half on the other side. Practice throwing any kind of ball, beanbag or disc through the targets.

Striking and Batting Practice
Hang whiffleballs from the SkyLineExpress System at 10' intervals. Students can practice striking skills with various racquets, including badminton, pickle ball, tennis, racquetball, etc. They can also practice the basic batting stroke with whiffleball bats.

Giant Volleyball
Use the SkyLineExpress System as a giant volleyball net. Use several beach balls or VB trainers at a time to get lots of practice in a hurry, or play games using the entire gym with no boundaries. Other games like newcomb or garbage ball can also be played in the giant court.

Divider Walls
Hang plastic sheets from the SkyLineExpress System to make a wall between two areas. This is perfect when 2 or more games are going on in the same gym. These walls can make the gym a safer place by keeping balls, birdies, etc. in their own area.
